Geospatial pioneer Orbica supports TEDxChristchurch 2019: Tūrangawaewae

Tūrangawaewae—A Place of Belonging is the theme for the tenth anniversary of TEDxChristchurch, and we couldn’t think of a company doing more to help people learn about the geographical nature of Ōtautahi, Christchurch, than our newest Silver Partner, Orbica.

Orbica was founded in 2017, when founder and CEO Kurt Janssen was convinced there were better ways to do things in the geospatial industry, exciting technology frontiers to be explored and a myriad of location data-inspired solutions just waiting to be discovered.

Since then, the company has grown quickly off of a stellar reputation for delivering innovative and value-driven solutions, with projects that pioneer geospatial artificial intelligence (GeoAI), develop unique data visualisation solutions and enable organisations to gain near real-time visibility of their data—all through geography and the power of location data.

This year, they’ve developed a special walking tour of significant local sites, with support from TEDxChristchurch’s Cultural Partner, Matapopore, Gold Partner Christchurch City Council, as well as event partners SCAPE Public Art.

We are so excited to collaborate with them and look forward to building upon this relationship in the years to come.
